The Virginia Renaissance Faire is an all-volunteer project that relies on the efforts of volunteers to make the magic happen. You, your family and friends can join the crew of The Virginia Renaissance Faire and experience the inner workings of a renaissance faire.

We’re always looking for hard-working individuals to help us out before and during the show season.

During the show include, our crew openings include: ticket booth, front gate, parking lot, trash pickup and general site maintenance, first aid crew, gift shop, rose sellers and tavern workers.

These volunteers will be expected to attend a dress rehearsal day the weekend before the show opens, in addition to scheduled shifts during the show run.

Pre-season, we’re in need of folks to help with construction, carpentry, stage/building/sign painting; clearing the site of brush, bench and table building, and tree work. Work sessions will be scheduled throughout the spring. We will continue to need help in some of these areas throughout the show run.

All of our volunteers get: free passes to use on unscheduled days or give away to family and friends; a t-shirt; first shot at auditions and staff positions for the next year, if interested, the chance to participate in some of our actor training; cast and crew social events; lots and lots of new, fun friends; the chance to get in on the ground level of Virginia’s premier Renaissance Festival and, last but not least, our undying gratitude and the knowledge that you made a little part of your world happier and more educated.

Send us an e-mail at comeplay@varf.org and tell us a little bit of about what you’re interested in, and any special skills/qualifications.

Don’t forget your contact information: name, address, phone and e-mail!

For both crew and staff positions, Virginia Faire will happily participate in any program that will get you community service, classroom or internship credit.

If you belong to a charitable organization that can provide a group of volunteers for a particular area – we’d like to talk to you about how we can support your organization through free advertising and other means of support.
